Muskoka Rustic Mack is really me, Nancy MacMillan and my husband of 42 years Hugh. Oh and our two dogs. Golden retriever Dixie and labradoodle Grace, they are the daily supervisors and inspectors.

 

Muskoka Rustic Mack Decor came out of closing the door on my nearly 40 years in the children's mental health and child welfare field. I was pushed and I mean pushed by my daughter and son to do something I enjoy. I have always had a love for home decor. In particular reinventing things from found items. I think this came from my mother and father who always lived by the motto "waste not, want not".

 

We have moved to beautiful Muskoka, the cottage country of Ontario to retire! This is retirement and I love it. We have met some great locals who are always willing to share and help. I am always on the hunt,  or the new age word  is "pick" for old items which are on the way to the local landfills. I have visions of how to re-invent an item and with some paint, screws,  cutting and polishing and new piece of decor has emerged!
